Rehasense UK was delighted to support Stephen Collins on his recent 7.5-mile charity walk in Huddersfield which was his third charity walk. Stephen was born with cerebral palsy on April 21, 1959, and his parents were told he would never walk. But he proved the medics wrong and on Saturday – the day before his 65th birthday – he did the gruelling trek for Huddersfield charity Ruddi’s Retreat which provides free caravan breaks for families with children battling serious illnesses such as cancer, have life-limiting conditions or have suffered bereavement.

To help him walk, Stephen has used various walking aids over the years and for the last two and a half years he has used a Rehasense Server W Forearm Walker which he loves and used on his latest charity walk. It took Stephen Collins eight hours to walk from Slaithwaite to Castle Hill including the final three miles which were almost entirely uphill to one of the highest spots in the town.

Stephen initially aimed to raise £1,500, but live streaming showing the immense effort he was having to make in every step smashed the target and he’s now raised around £2,000.
